What is the difference from the Onleihe?
TigerBooks are animated e-books. They use the latest technical possibilities to encourage children to read and experience media content made for them. At the centre is Tibo the tiger, who goes along with you and makes navigating easier. He introduces new and absorbing content and makes reading, playing and learning intuitive. Unlike the Onleihe, every TigerBooks item is available throughout the whole loan period.
What is actually available?
Every major children's publisher is represented — Carlsen, Ravensburger, Oetinger and so on. Whether you love pony stories, fancy comics or long for the classics, there is something for every taste: Sesamstraße - Bibi Blocksberg - Yakari - Charlie Bone - Pettersson und Findus - Die Olchis - Benjamin Blümchen - Der kleine Drache Kokosnuss - Conni - Der Grüffelo - Warrior Cats - Wickie - Bibi & Tina - Sherlock von Schlotterfels - and many more. Interactive books, e-books and audiobooks are available. TigerBooks films, however, are not.
Can I look at TigerBooks first, without committing?
On our tablets you can look at TigerBooks with a few selected items during opening hours, free and without any commitment.
What does TigerBooks cost me?
Nothing. It is free to use. And since the loan period ends automatically, no overdue or reminder fees can arise.
What are my login details?
You log in with the details you already know: your reader number and your personal password, the same as for your reader account in our online catalogue.
Can I log out of the app and back in during the loan period?
Yes, you can log out and back in as often as you like until the regular loan period has run out.
Can I end the loan early?
Unfortunately there is no way to do that at present.
Is it possible to renew?
For technical reasons the loan period cannot be renewed at present. But once it has run out you can simply borrow again, as long as licences are still free.
Is it possible to reserve?
For technical reasons individual licences unfortunately cannot yet be reserved. We therefore ask you to wait 1 or 2 days before borrowing again, to give other users a chance, since the number of licences is limited by cost.
Couldn't you offer more licences?
If you like what we offer and would like to use it more often, but the licences are always taken, then join the Friends of the Library and help us with your subscription so that we can take out more licences. Best of all, ask your friends, your parents and so on too. The more members the Friends of the Library have, the more can be offered.
What to do if you have further questions or problems?
You are always welcome to get in touch. Outside opening hours you can reach us round the clock by email at info@owbib.de. We do our best to answer as quickly as we can, in the evenings and at weekends too.
If you notice a mistake or an inconsistency on our website, please let us know. Thank you!
