Lesestart 1-2-3: now at your library!

Parents of three-year-olds can pick up the Lesestart bag from us, along with useful information about reading aloud and about books.

Lesestart 1-2-3 is a national programme for early language and reading development. Funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and run by Stiftung Lesen, it helps children grow up with books – an important foundation for good educational chances!

Families with children aged 3 can collect Lesestart bags from us here at the library, while stocks last. The bags for one- and two-year-olds are available at participating paediatric practices at the U6 and U7 check-ups.

Each bag contains:

  • a picture book suited to the age
  • helpful tips for parents on reading aloud
  • a practical cloth bag
