Sharemagazines is the digital version of the familiar "reading circle", and so adds to the magazines held at the library itself.
The service is free to any visitor who is inside the library.
Just drop by and read well-known daily papers and magazines over a freshly brewed cup of coffee or tea – Stern, 11 Freunde, GEO, GQ, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, Business Punk, Forbes Magazine, Vogue, TIME, Bravo or the Hamburger Morgenpost, and many more.
With PressReader you can read at home. It also gives you an archive going back up to 90 days. There is a read-aloud function too. The built-in full-text search lets you look up particular articles and topics, and you can print them out or send them by email.
The digital reading circle gives you only the current issue of each of the 500-plus newspapers and magazines, and only in the library.
There are over 500 different magazines and newspapers from all over the world in various languages. The most recent issue of each is available. New titles are added all the time. You can find a list of all available titles here.
All you need is the Sharemagazines app installed on your smartphone or tablet. You do not have to be a member with us, and no registration is needed. We also lend tablets for use in the library. If you have any questions, just ask at the loans desk.
