Reading builds...

• concentration and joined-up thinking.
• social skills.
• the ability to express yourself in words.
• comprehension.
• taking part in cultural life.
• finding your way in a many-layered media world.

Owingen Library builds... reading & more!

So much comes at us these days.
So much information.
So many new developments.
All of them asking for so many new skills.

We need knowledge, we need jobs - we need time for ourselves and for one another.
We need... a place - to find the resources, to learn new skills.
To find out more about what we love.
To get better and to get on.
To reach the people close to us... and to get to know new friends.

Those places are already there, in 65,000 locations across Europe,
where every year they welcome more than 100 million citizens.

Places that fight unemployment, functional illiteracy, a lack of digital skills and loneliness.

Places near us that bring people together and foster the skilled workers,
creative learners and strong communities that Europe needs.
Places we cannot do without.

Libraries change lives!
